In the Indian, or rather Hindu culture, it’s customary that the members of the household pay their resects to some kind of God.

There are so many, that to the rest of the world, it might seem bizarre to have more than one.
The Hindu culture has around 330 million devas as they are known, but each have their own, multiple manifestations, which is what seems to make the list of deities so long.

BUT,the reason I mention “God” isn’t to stir up any sort of debate, but merely to present some form of an introduction to this picture.
It’s a picture of a large copper/brass plate, an intricately embossed wall hanging, and the lighting at that time, inspired me to take a picture, and edit it.

It represents the ’Navah Grahas’ , which means the Nine Planets, or “influencers” each of which is represented by a deity.

This one below, is just a close up of ‘Śani’ (pronounced Sha-nee) of the planet Saturn, and can prove to be quite troublesome for those who follow their planetary statuses.

What I find fascinating is that there is a strange and significant synonymity between the Mythological Gods of the Greeks, The Persians and The Romans; so many deities and each of them have some power pertaining to Nature.

But in all honesty, I’m not a theologist, so this goes much beyond my comprehension. Moreover, I’m kind of an agnostic but, this rather large copper plate I have hanging around the house just had the perfect texture, and lighting and posed as a good opportunity for photography.

I know it doesn’t really look like it, but the snow set around the prints made the night before the snow fell. They’re still so beautiful.

Waow! had no idea that Wallflowers (plugin room fresheners) have VOC which a very toxic. Give this a read and see how you can make your own!

i’m about to get hippie on you all. plugin air fresheners (and tons of other stuff) have something called VOC in them. VOC stands for “volatile organic compounds” and they are highly toxic. they are chemicals with a low boiling point.

VOC cause all sorts of problems in your body: infertility (some of you may like that!), headaches, nervous system disorders, memory loss and cancer for both your pet and you…. lots of things.

i was bummed when i learned about this and unplugged mine. being a packrat i couldn’t bring myself to toss it out and thought, maybe i’ll just plug it in for the holidays and poison my loved ones only a few times a year.

then i had a bright idea:
replace the bad stuff with good stuff: essential oils, which are awesome for you and, sometimes a lot cheaper than the liquid cancer bath and body works sells.
